With Change Comes Opportunity…
The opportunity to grow, move forward, and adapt. During Volume 2021, two Michigan State Law Review editors, Lauren Legner (‘22) and Buke Hiziroglu (‘22), saw the change in the editorial board as an opportunity to further develop an arm of the journal that was passively existing.
The Michigan State Law Review is a highly regarded flagship legal journal, affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Law. Years ago, the journal expanded into online publication, as the Michigan State Law Review Legal Forum. However, Lauren and Buke desired to create an online edition that would complement the prestige of the Michigan State Law Review, by launching the MSLR Forum.
Looking back at Volume 2021-2022, we are excited to report that the MSLR Forum has had a successful inaugural year!
We have put in endless hours to prepare and publish hot-topic legal issues on the MSLR Forum, and this would have been impossible without the help from our Staff Editor committee members. Therefore, we would like to recognize the hard work of the online platform committee members:
Hannah Cone (‘23)
Andrew Hussey (‘23)
Claire Moore (‘23)
Nathaniel Scholl (‘23)
Sam Weiser (‘23)
These Staff Editors made sure that the public visibility of the MSLR Forum never faded as we worked diligently to produce a quality inaugural volume.
What started out as a two-person committee chairpersonship, transformed into a Senior Editorial Board position, the Online Forum Editor. We would like to thank the Senior Editorial Board and the Editorial Board in their support for launching an online edition of the Michigan State Law Review that reflects the quality and prominence of the print edition.
We are excited to leave the MSLR Forum in the highly capable and talented hands of incoming Online Forum Editor, Niko Spilson (‘23), and we look forward to what Volume 2022-2023 and future volumes of the MSLR Forum have in store for our readers.
Yours Truly,
A. Buke Hiziroglu (‘22)
Lauren Legner (‘22)
